The King and Her Majesty the Queen by submitting their sentiments on a very richly embroidered
scroll, contained in an ornamental carved case.
I enclose a copy of the translation of the address
of which the original is now in course of preparation,
and which it is intended shall exemplify the best
output of modern Chinese art.

It is their desire that I should
lay this address before Their Majesties on the
occasion of the Coronation at Delhi, and I have
the honour to enquire whether His Majesty will be
very graciously pleased to permit me to do so,
as an expression of loyalty and devotion to his
Throne and Person from his few Chinese subjects
on the occasion of his visit to the East. If His
Majesty should graciously accede to their prayer
it will be a cause of rejoicing to the Chinese
Community of Hongkong.
I have the honour to be,
sir,
Your most obedient, humble Servant,
Bangang
Governor, etc,.
